Knowledge Into Action - Tuesday 27 February, from 15:30-17:30, Room C115 College Building

Synopsis

As part of this year’s run-up to the annual Knowledge into Action Lab on May 15th and 16th, the Theme Directors are hosting a dialogue session on the fundamental question of what we, as an academic community, understand by “knowledge” and what it means to put it “into action”.This session will take place on Tuesday 27 February, from 15:30-17:30, Room C115 College Building and on Zoom.We welcome colleagues and in particular Early Career Researchers and Postgraduates from Science & Technology, Arts & Creative, Business & Law and Health, Social Care & Education to share in this dialogue so we can learn from each other.

The topic will be introduced by a panel of speakers representing our four faculties and their different epistemological orientations:

Dr David Adams, Senior Lecturer in Transdisciplinary Practice

Professor Balbir Barn, Professor of Software Engineering

Professor Eleonore Kofman, Professor of Social Policy

Professor Jayne Osgood, Professor in Education

Dr Neelam Raina, Associate Professor in Design and Development

Professor Johan Siebers, Professor of Philosophy of Language and Communication, and Theme Director for Sustainable Communities, will moderate.

Light refreshments will be available.
